Summary:
CheckMeOut look to be enjoying the prospect of a new season, coming out tonight in force and delivering a telling blow, in more than one way, stating that they're back.
CheckMeOut were very slow out of the blocks, surrendering a goal early in the match, but some strong defending, from McDonald in particular halted any more ventures to the goal for the S.T.Ruggling, and CheckMeOut were able to hit back from a goal from Butler. Then a nice goal from Croft off a fantastic group of passing gave CheckMeOut the lead. Nearing the end of the half, McDonald toe poked a ball away from the attacker at midfield that fell straight into Butler's lap who consequently fired it into the back of the net to make it 3-1 at the half-time break.
While McDonald was off, the opposition managed to bring the game back to a 3-2 game, and Templer was on the recieving end of a very harsh challenge that could've easily warranted a red. The referee missed most of the challenge and only warrented a free, but McDonald came back on to settle the score, when he returned a favour to the culprit, sending him crashing to the floor with a vicious bodycheck which went completely unpenalized.
The defensive game tightened up completely, and the team made some vicious runs to the net, CheckMeOut restoring their 2 goal buffer quickly after, and then Butler completed his 2nd 4-goal game for CheckMeOut and put CheckMeOut to their final score, 5-2.
Three Stars:
3rd Star: C. Roussos - Puts up the Wall as only the Sos-man can, factored in many of the goals and put on great pressure all game.
2nd Star: M. Butler - Picked up a classy 4, for the second time in his career. Pity it won't be taken into the statistics.
1st Star: M. Templer - Made a great return to the regular side by playing a constantly great game in both offence and defense. Factored in many key plans.
