Summary:
CheckMeOut are finding out just what it'll take to beat the teams in their new combined-league. At least that's what they'll say when asked how they lost the game.
CheckMeOut started off strongly, actually appearing to be on the ball at the start of the game, a rare occurrence usually, and their switched on attitude brought them a goal mid-way through the first half, putting them up 1-0. From there however, it all went pear-shaped.
Better Emerald replied with 2 quick goals to seal the first half at 1-2, and never really looked back.
CheckMeOut lost all momentum in the second half, conceding two more goals until Templer struck back from a free kick at center court, beating the keeper who up until then looked inpenetrible. Even McDonald got in on the action, hitting 3 strong shots on goal, yet another rarity, but was unable to crack the goalie. Many shots went CheckMeOut's way but the goalie stood strong.
To make matters worse, halfway through the second half, McDonald came off with a minor concussion after stopping a ball with his nose and face, resulting in a bloody captain and the end of this game report, as he has no idea what happened afterwards.
Three Stars:
3rd Star: M. Butler - A constant scoring threat all night.
2nd Star: L. McDonald - Strong defensive game, walks away with a blood nose and a concussion and unlucky not to break his goal-drought.
1st Star: L. Ashby - By far the best play maker of the night.
