Summary:
Andrew Watson returned briefly from retirement to help guide CheckMeOut to a 5-3 win and their first win of the season, over their alternate stripped Prackers.
With Klaver absent and McDonald resting a injury sustained in a game earlier in the week, CheckMeOut were without a permanent goalkeeper, but the team alternated well, starting off the game with McDonald in goal.
He stopped a few Prackers thrusts towards goal and two shots while setting up a CheckMeOut goal, until he was relieved in goal and sat out the rest of the game to prevent any further damage to his thigh.
Roussos got his name on the scorecard again, his 2nd goal of the season and then Davis was forced to come off after a hack challenge nearly rendered his shin-pads useless. During his stint on the bench Wato returned with a marvellous free-kick and banged home his 1st goal in his 1st game of the season.
After half time CheckMeOut slacked off a bit and Prackers were able to hit back with 3 quick goals, the third of which saw Watson dragged by an angry manager, Watson never returned.
Butler copped the brunt of the misfortune while he was in goal, conceding all 3, but he made up for it with a goal of his own. Davis capped the scoring with his 2nd of the game, and the match was all but over. Sos made a couple of nice saves in goal before the whistle blew, CheckMeOut running out relatively easy victors, aside from a brief scare from Prackers.
Three Stars:
3rd Star: C. Roussos - Played a decent game considering his night beforehand. Bagged a goal and stopped some shots in goal.
2nd Star: R. Davis - Scores a goal, injures himself, and scores again. Made some threatening runs and had the ball on a string in the attacking half.
1st Star: A. Watson - Though playing only about a half of the game due to a subsititution error in the first half, manages to score a goal and held up the backline.
