Summary:
Four goals for Butler, one point for CheckMeOut.
Another strong game from the whole side this week ensured that CheckMeOut would walk away with at least one point, but had it not been for the 4-goal game of Martin Butler, things could've been a lot different. Butler, playing a more attacking role than normal, with Ashby pushed back into the midfield produced game of the season so far, producing more goals in one game than CheckMeOut have been able to mustre per game all season.
Butler was inspirational, and he got good support in the offensive areas by all of the team, with Sos nailing the only other goal, moving his tally to 4, only one short of Butler's 5.
Ashby and Watson played a more central game, and both had some decent chances, but failed to capitalize, and the defence was held together by McDonald who stopped shot after shot and allowed Klavs to do his job.
The team, playing with the full side for just the 3rd time, had to rally from a deficit all game, as they were unable to put the ones in to give them the lead, but they once again fought back from 2 goals down for Martin to bag the tying marker. The scores stayed the same as McDonald shut down 1,2,3 YEAH's only real scoring threat with some physical play in front of the D, CheckMeOut recieved a reprieve when a goal was adjudged correctly inside the D.
Next week, retribution time, as CheckMeOut try to beat The Gunnas for the first time ever, with their best team on field.
Three Stars:
3rd Star: L. McDonald - Played a very physical game, blocked shots and generally prevented any kind of run to the attacking zone.
2nd Star: C. Roussos - Picks up a goal on return and provided a lot of offensive and defensive pressure.
1st Star: M. Butler - A 4-goal haul and some generally outstanding play ensure Butler recieves the 1st star, extending his star streak to 4 weeks.
