Summary:

The question is, how do you beat a goalie?

CheckMeOut struggled all night to recapture the form that they had against Ethnics two weeks ago, the bye most likely doing them harm, rather than any good. Nothing was going right for CheckMeOut who trailed all game, dubious decisions and extremely poor marking and goaltending clearly lost this game for CheckMeOut with White Magic constantly getting 1 on 1s, 2 on 1s and 3 on 1s with the goalie.
An opening goal from White Magic's only real threat - number 8 set CheckMeOut back, until Sos with a fantastic strike evened the score 1-1. From then, White Magic scored a further 2 goals to seal the half time score at 1-3.

The second half was a carbon copy of the first, except with a lot more fouls and shocking decisions. The game in the end was marred with Ashby, Watson and McDonald showing their real thoughts about the referee and probably lucky not to get carded for doing so, after a less than stellar call of allowing a "goal" to stand even though at no point had it crossed the line, nor would it have. The ball came off the left wall and spun backwards with McDonald covering it to prevent it spinning further, and with around a foot left before it hit the net was completely stopped and held up as a goal.

At 5-1 Davis scored a good goal, beating the White Magic keeper for just the second time to bring the score to 5-2, but White Magic scored again to cap the scoring.
CheckMeOut must work out how to play against White Magic if they are to have any chance against them in the finals. So far their record stands at 0 wins, 2 losses (1 goal & 4 goals) and a 3-3 tie. Back to the drawing board.

Three Stars:

Third Star: R. Davis - Would say he had his worst game yet, but still kicked a goal and had several good scoring opportunities.
Second Star: L. Ashby - Didn't make a mark on the scoresheet but assisted on Davis' second half goal and played well all night, but wasn't supported by his team mates enough.
First Star: C. Roussos - As is the case when the offence fails, scoring half of the teams score and defending well all night. No denying who deserves the first star this week.
