Summary:
Most people expected CheckMeOut to carry on with their winning streak when they faced up against Independant, however some people in CheckMeOut had different ideas, by not showing up at all.
CheckMeOut took on Independant with just 4 players and gave them a very good go, but in the end, fatigue ruled as the man down killed any hope of CheckMeOut being able to last out the game. In the end, resulting in 4 players trudging around like zombies by the end of the game.
Marred by many fouls against CheckMeOut by their opposition, CheckMeOut managed to get on the board first after a Sos goal, after McDonald, given a penalty shot, managed to pick out only the goaltender. Butler then sealed the first half with a goal of his own, before Independant hit back to tie it 2-2. The fatigue starting to settle in just before the end of the first half.
CheckMeOut attempted to play out the game but fell short of it, after being fouled again and again, with CheckMeOut getting kicked, kneed and ultimately being decked more times than Independant put shots on goal. Though the stats show 24 shots on goal by Independant, most were taken in last 5 minutes where CheckMeOut failed to get any more run from their weary legs.
With a bit of luck, more than 4 will turn up this week when they take on Jason's All-stars for the final game of the first half.
Three Stars:
3rd Star: L. McDonald - Recieved more attention than David Beckham, and has the bruises on his legs, back and head to prove it.
3rd Star: M. Templer - Got a lot of the ball and made a lot of nice plays and passes and held down the fort in goal at the start of the game.
2nd Star: C. Roussos - Scored a goal and did the rest. Unlucky on two goals against him while in goal.
1st Star: M. Butler - Picked up a goal and provided most of CheckMeOut's offensive pushes, as well as playing well down back.
