Summary:
Turns out one player can deny CheckMeOut a win, or at least a goal.
CheckMeOut failed to register on the scoresheet tonight and also failed to give Croft and Wato a win in their final game for CheckMeOut before being deported back to England.
Though the game itself was rather close, CheckMeOut could not beat the opposition keeper, and it almost appeared as if Better Emerald had one more pair of legs on the court, which is probably true. CheckMeOut were completely outrun by a younger, fitter team.
Not to take anything away from CheckMeOut's performance, because on most nights it would translate into at least a tie, but Better Emerald's keeper did all the work for the team and some clinical finishing from his team mates did the rest. CheckMeOut failing to score at all for the first time in 3 seasons. This coming the week after they were lucky to pull an own goal from Jason's All Stars.
Hopefully the CheckMeOut offence can fire up next week as they hope to overcome the loss of two regulars in their side.
Three Stars:
2nd Star: A. Watson - Wato went out in style playing a very hard game, creating plenty of chances and almost scored a couple of goals of his own.
2nd Star: L. Ashby - Almost a carbon copy of Wato's game, Croft was unlucky not to score himself.
1st Star: L. McDonald - Impossible to split the 1st stars this week as Sos and Lmac put on a dazzling display on field. McDonald nearly had his first goal, but there was no getting around Giguere.
1st Star: C. Roussos - Sos played well in a more mid role with Wato hanging back the most of the game, he set up countless plays and again was only denied by Jiggy.
