Summary:

CheckMeOut were to play their second consecutive 4 point game, as they faced a team just one position below them in Platinum Scissors tonight. The question on everyone's mind was, what would work tonight, offense or defence, as both have failed to co-exist with each other. Tonight, it was offence.

CheckMeOut came out and blasted home 3 goals in the first half, and another 2 in the second to score 5 goals, their best offensive output since the game against Chino where they scored 8. The defense was fairly solid, but conceded 4 as Platinum Scissors caught a few lucky breaks, with balls just sneaking in off the post or just evading bodies in front. That made the score seem much closer, but in the end, CheckMeOut were at least a 3 goal better side than their opposition.

CheckMeOut started unusually well, powering home the advantage while Platinum Scissors were still coming to terms with one less player, who was replaced at the last minute by a spectator, and then an opponent from another team. Davis was clearly best on the ground throughout the first half as he scored one, set up another and was a driving force toward the net.

The second half was a bit different though, Platinum Scissors decided they would try to claw their way back into the game, and CheckMeOut gave up a 3 goal lead to concede a 3-3 game, Roussos scored his second goal of the game however, after being denied only by the posts a couple of times, to put CheckMeOut up 4-3, only for CheckMeOut to cough up the lead again to make it 4-4. Then the turning point. And who else would you expect in the middle of a scramble?

McDonald had just drove back from a forward position after narrowly missing the right goal post, the goalkeeper collected the ball and sent a bouncing ball up the court, outnumbered 2-1, McDonald put a foot out, and passed the ball through two people to find a running Davis all by himself in the forward half, Davis didn't let the chance go, as he drilled the ball into the back of the net, for the game winning goal.
Also scoring in the game was Butler, ending a pretty long scoring drought for the striker.

CheckMeOut face a tough challenge extending their two-game winning streak this week however, when they face Manchester. All areas of the team must be on their game if they are to stand a chance.

Three Stars:

3rd Star: M. Butler - Ends his scoring drought, picking up his 4th of the season, fed some nice balls to his team mates and had a handful of chances all through the night.
2nd Star: C. Roussos - Sos picks up 2 goals to add to his new found scoring touch in the last few weeks, played solidly in midfield. 1st Star: R. Davis - Picks up 2 goals, including the eventual game winner and was very sound in his offensive half as well as in defence.
