Summary:
CheckMeOut's season may be over after a crushing defeat to NWU last week, but they're out to destroy the hopes of whoever they can. With one week remaining in the season, they still have a chance to shape the finals race, even if not by placing themselves in there.
Tonight was Independant's turn, and they found out what happens when CheckMeOut gets angry. Trailing 3-1 before halftime after a couple of unfortunate instances in goal, and a goal from Marty to put them on the board, CheckMeOut never gave up and used their aggression to their advantage, by agitating Independant to the point where their mind was no longer on the game at hand.
CheckMeOut completely shut down Independant, limiting their attempts on goal in the second half, with McDonald coming up clutch and stopping them all, not conceding a goal in the next 20 minutes of the game, while CheckMeOut clawed their way back.
A goal from Temps after getting under the skin of a defender brought a much needed spark, and CheckMeOut were on and back in the game. Though most shots failed to hit the net, the fabled number 2 shirt came in and buried a goal, the tying marker. Unfortunately it was Sos wearing the shirt, and Lmac's goalless streak continues, leaving him one game to get his first goal in this season.
Sos' goal levelled it with not much time left, and persistant pressure was showing on Independant as their players took stupid fouls and ultimately got a yellow card. 3-3 was where the score stayed at the final whistle, CheckMeOut possibly shattering Independant's finals hopes. Next up, Jason's All Stars, another team on the brink of the finals.
Three Stars:
3rd Star: C. Roussos - Got under the skin of the players, causing a yellow card against his opponent, also bagged the tying goal.
2nd Star: M. Butler - Kicks CheckMeOut's lone 1st half marker, and found a lot of the ball.
1st Star: M. Templer - Started the rot for Independant when their player got overly aggressive on him, kicked the ensuing goal giving CheckMeOut: the chance to tie it all up.
